Original Medicare
Parts A & B
Medicare is comprised of four parts. Parts A & B are the base coverage of Medicare, from there you have the option to add a Part D Prescription Drug Plan and a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Medicare Part A helps cover your inpatient care in hospitals, critical access hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities (not custodial or long-term care). It also helps cover hospice care and some home health care. You must meet certain conditions to get these benefits.

Part B (Medicare Insurance)
Medicare Part B helps cover medically necessary services like doctors’ services and tests, outpatient care, home health services, durable medical equipment, and other medical services. Part B also covers some preventive services.

Original Medicare typically isn't enough coverage as it doesn't cover prescription medications and paying for services received can end up costing quite a bit. We recommend adding a Part D Drug Plan and Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan to help mitigate your costs.
